Steve is an Executive Consultant at Intelligent Demand focused in health and healthcare. In this role, Steve provides deep subject matter expertise and strategic input and oversight to Intelligent Demand’s account teams and clients.

Steve is a former health care marketing and communication executive who has developed and launched transformative content marketing, automated marketing, and social media programs. His early career as an editor at newspapers across the country gives him deep experience in spotting trends and creating content that engages a broad range of audiences.

As senior director of Integrated Communication and Brand Management in the Kaiser Permanente Colorado Region until September 2015, Stevehelped Colorado become the fastest-growing region in Kaiser Permanente. He was a member of the team that developed the highly successful Thrive advertising and brand expansion campaign. The Colorado Region was the first in Kaiser Permanente to develop a content marketing platform. It partnered with Intelligent Demand to launch an automated marketing program that earned more than $50 million in new revenue for the Region in its first three years. The Region piloted use of Facebook and Twitter as a means to attract and convert leads, and as a means to develop new touch points with existing customers. It also is the first Kaiser Permanente region to launch an interactive online health and wellness program that increases engagement with patients on their primary health concerns.

Steve’s marketing team has won awards from the Business Marketing Association, the Content Marketing Association, the Public Relations Society of America, Ragan Communications, and Marketo. Steve was one of three finalists for Marketo’s Visionary Marketing Executive award in 2014. In 2015, he was invited to present at South By Southwest, the Marketo Marketing Nation Summit, and the American Health Insurance Plans’ Consumer Experience and Digital Health Forum.

In addition to his role with Intelligent Demand, he runs his own public relations consultancy Connected Communication, LLC, and is a professor of  PR and Journalism at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
