Intelligent Demand is an integrated revenue growth agency. We exist to help transform marketers into revenue leaders. Any agency can create activity for their client. Most can create an ad, write and design a piece of content, and maybe even deploy campaigns in marketing technology stacks. Very few can do those things and connect the dots back to what’s most important — creating a scalable and sustainable revenue growth engine.

But how do we do it? It all starts with the talented and passionate marketers that make up the ID team. In this blog series we aim to introduce you to each of our superheroes behind the mission. So, without further ado, please meet…Marissa Curran!

When did you start at ID?

I started in November of 2019.

Describe your career so far, where did you go to school?

After graduating  from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Advertising/Public Relations and interning with B2B and B2C corporations, I worked in insurance marketing and financial services marketing roles for 7 years. During that time, I found a passion for marketing automation, starting in HubSpot, Salesforce and Pardot. While in Orlando, I also served on the board of Ad2Orlando, a young professional affiliate of the American Advertising Federation Orlando, for several years. 

Shortly after relocating to Denver in 2019, I joined the ID team and haven’t looked back since. During my time here, I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about ABM strategies, integrated growth marketing, and level up my skillset in several technologies, including certifications in several Marketing Automation Platforms (MAPs) and systems including Pardot, Marketo, Salesforce, and Uberflip.  

What do you do here at ID? Describe your role.

At ID, I get to work in our clients’ systems including Pardot, HubSpot, Marketo, Eloqua, CRMs, etc. to make sure all the pieces work properly together and programs, campaigns, and assets are built and optimized to perform the best they can. Days include building campaigns, QAing programs, configuring integrations, data munging, and serving as a puzzle-solver for any other tech questions that pop up. 

For a nerd like me, it’s pretty great getting to “play” with all these tools and learn something new everyday!

What is your favorite part about ID? What drew you in?

My answer isn’t very original here, since you can ask almost anyone that works at ID and we’ll almost always say the same thing… THE PEOPLE! From my first interview, I was hooked. Everyone on the team is so knowledgeable, kind, and passionate about what they do, and I just wanted to learn from them, which I still continue to do, every day.

When did your journey in revenue growth begin and what have you found the most interesting?

Before ID, my positions were really focused on using whatever marketing tools I had available to produce results, and while “revenue growth” was the goal, it sometimes became lost among priorities. At ID, the goal of revenue growth is at the forefront of nearly everything we do for our clients, and it truly helps shape our strategies and work on the pieces that matter most. The really cool part about it is how much it changes from client to client, campaign to campaign, day to day. It’s truly like solving a puzzle each time, and I love seeing how all the pieces come together.

What are your passions outside work? Where can we find you on the weekends?

When not at ID, you can usually find me hiking with my two pups (Clementine and Huckleberry), reading, or binging the latest Netflix series. When this pandemic is over though, you’ll find me at a concert or music festival because I’ve dearly missed shows, traveling, or taking a ballet, yoga, or aerial class.

The year 2020. We’ve been faced with a lot of challenges and the desire to see a change. What are you most excited to see come out of it? What have been the silver linings? Where would you like to see the world go from here? 

Some of the biggest changes to come out of this includes a shift to remote work, which I find exciting, as I think it’s leading to a shift in the idea of work/life balance, more opportunities for finding talent across the country or globe, and also more travel opportunities (eventually). Plus, getting to spend more time with my pups and less time commuting has been great!
